Fashion Garage opens in Wichita Falls with vintage and retro flair

Connie Bennett and Janet Ehling have over 45 years of combined buying and reselling experience and together they opened Fashion Garage.

The new business opened on Small Business Saturdays last week and offers vintage, retro and contemporary clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories.

They opened in the old Gragg Motor Company parking lot at the corner of 12th and Lamar streets. The ladies are planning to have a grand opening in early 2019 after the holidays.

Fashion Garage's Janet Ehling is setting up a vintage hat display at her new store in the former Gragg Motor Company on Lamar.

“I love that people finding out that they don’t have to dress head to toe in vintage, that they can just pick out a stunning vintage blouse to add to their current wardrobe,” Ehling said. . “Make it a statement piece.”

The location is steeped in history as Robert Gragg had sold downtown cars from 1947 until recently and Bennett plans to leave the main sign on the corner with Gragg’s name on it.

A sign just inside greets customers and was part of the historic car dealership.

An original sign from the former Gragg Motor Company now welcomes customers to the new Fashion Garage, a vintage clothing store.

Bennett and her husband also buy and sell antiques, and many authentic pieces decorate the new shop, giving it a retro feel.

“We try to combine vintage and contemporary and show that you can create your own style by combining the two. So take your favorite piece, but you want to add something a little different, so don’t go. with the standard, ”Bennett said. .

Connie Bennett straightens up a display in a jewelry box at Fashion Garage, a new boutique selling vintage, retro and contemporary clothing for men and women.

The store is on Facebook at FashionGarage and on Instagram @fashiongaragewf.
