Calling all sneakerheads, New balance revealed the highly anticipated capsule collection which will coincide with this year’s Gray Day event.

For those not yet in the know, Gray Day is New Balance’s annual celebration of its heritage (and over a century of independence) with a color that has become synonymous with the brand.

For this year’s celebrations, New Balance is offering a three-part collection that looks like it was straight out of the Strange things wardrobe department.

This hybrid approach cemented the shoe’s status as a versatile style and contributed to the rise of sneakers seen as a fashion accessory (rather than what you wear to pump iron).

In New Balance’s signature color scheme (it’s gray, of course), the 2021 collection incorporates two of the 574 styles and a 57/40 equivalent.

There are a bunch of new styles to choose from, so let’s break them down.

If you like the classic logomania look, the original 574 gray is your best choice. With the design of the 1980s and the signature “N”, you will be ready to go “physical” to the Olivia Newton-John.

The 574 Un-N-Ding is a limited edition style that removes the N (hint, it’s all in the name). This is the shoe for when you want to strip it down and have a monochromatic moment.

The 57/40 is the most modern of the bunch with all the undertones of gray you could ask for, combined into one streamlined, limited-edition Gray Day shoe.

Overall, the exclusive Gray Day collection pays homage to one of the brand’s best-selling silhouettes and will have you living all your the normcore of the 80s dreams.

With the slogan “Worn by Anyone”, New Balance’s 2021 collection is a nod to the past, present and future of the brand. It’s also so versatile that you can take it from the busy city streets to the racetrack.

To highlight this, New Balance presents the new collection on some of the star athletes of the world, including Jamal Murray, Sydney mclaughlin, Sadio Mane, Coco gauff and Tiago Lemos.

While New Balance can’t guarantee you’ll become an Olympian, the 574 can make you feel as fashionable as Madonna of the 1980s.

Oh, and did we mention that New Balance is also give 100 pairs celebrate its heritage?
