Sometimes it’s fun to feel the nostalgia for the past. For example, PS1 style games are a popular genre. And no company does this style better than Puppet Combo. The publisher has released numerous titles via PC which are all horrific in nature. Now it scares Nintendo’s latest console. The terrifying Murder House a Shadow released on Switch today.
I wanted to play Murder House on Switch since watching multiple Let’s Plays
If you want an idea of what Murder House is about, check out its April trailer:
Oh man, it’s scary and bloody. I’m digging into the ’80s aesthetic. It might have been a preview of the actual movie we’d see at the time.
Here’s a quick recap of the game:
A local press team storms into an abandoned house to pursue a dirty ghost story… until a MANIAC pursues them! … Slasher from the 80s VHS era.
A team of reporters burst into the abandoned old house of an executed serial killer Anthony Smith, planning to shoot a dirty haunted house story. But is the famous Easter Ripper really dead or is he waiting inside, ready to wipe them out one by one? Who will survive and what will be left of them? The spiritual successor of Babysitter bloodbath.
This game simulates a 5th generation survival horror game. It uses tank controls, cinematic third-person camera angles, and is meant to be played with a controller. If you have a problem to play tank control games, you will not like this game. It does not have autosave, you have to save with pencils which are in limited supply.
You can buy Murder House here for $ 11.99. Hopefully if it sells well, more of the Puppet Combo catalog will make it to Switch.
